In the natural cycle the creek takes on the water purification. Responsible for this work are the stones and rocks in the water which are the support for a clarifying biofilm consisting of micro organisms as well as the slope of the creek.
The researchers in our company in co-operation with the technical universities of Chemnitz, Cottbus and Dresden managed to transfer the cleaning mechanism of a creek to a fully biological waste water treatment plant.
Instead of stones WSB® clean employs a proved granulate as carrier material: Kaldnes. Despite the small dimensions the organisms have a large surface area to live on and create an extremely efficient biofilm. The granulate is distributed pneumatically within the treatment vessel without rising or sinking. Thanks to the continuous movement the pieces do not stick together and consequently continue to work. The necessary cleaning of the granulate itself occurs on its own.
A very easy proof of the effectiveness of WSB® clean is a smell test. You will notice that the plant does not smell! In comparison think of a mountain stream which is particularly clean due to the large number of stones and it’s gradient.
