Strengths are Apparent in Exceptional Circumstances

The biofilm has large reserves which can capture matter during overloading. This kind of situation can arise when a bath is emptied or during a family party. In these cases the plant must be able to cope quickly with a 100% increased loading which for WSB® clean is not a problem. The plant works equally well in the alternative situation of under loading. During long periods of non-use, such as absence due to vacation, the biofilm can die and as a result cause the plant to stop functioning. In this type of situation, the WSB® clean biofilm rests and immediately starts working again when the situation changes.

Complex Degradation Processes in the Smallest Spaces

The effectiveness of WSB® clean is based on the special properties of the biofilm. It is the basis for the only waste water treatment plant that works reliably even below 12 °C with acknowledgement by the authorities.

Aerobic Layer

Undertakes the decay of carbon compounds as well as the degradation of ammonia and ammonium, which impact greatly on the quality of water, to nitrate.

Anoxic Layer

Via the denitrification mechanism, nitrate turns into nitrogen and oxygen, which escape into the atmosphere.

Aerobic Layer

Sulphate is degraded here.
